In 1805, Madame Clicquot took the reins of the Maison and became one of the first modern business women. Despite the difficulties, she looked to the future with confidence and achieved the almost impossible for a woman of her time: revolutionising the champagne industry.

Veuve Clicquot’s emblematic cuvée, Brut Yellow Label, embodies over two centuries of craftsmanship at the heart of an exceptional heritage. Its iconic yellow label, in use since 1877, reflects the colour of the rising sun - a symbol of optimism and boldness.

As the Maison’s signature champagne, Yellow Label perfectly balances the four pillars of the Veuve Clicquot style: freshness, strength, aromatic richness, and silkiness. The predominance of Pinot Noir provides the structure that defines Veuve Clicquot, while a touch of Meunier brings roundness to the blend. Chardonnay completes the cuvée with elegance and finesse, resulting in a wine of remarkable balance.

La Grande Dame 2018 is created in tribute to Madame Clicquot’s bold, pioneering vision and produced only in exceptional vintages, reflecting her motto: “Only one quality, the finest.” Rooted in her passion for Pinot Noir, it embodies the Maison’s signature L’Art du Pinot Noir, with 90% Pinot Noir bringing depth and precision. An expression of both nature and craftsmanship, it reveals refined aromas of lime, apple and tonka bean, layered with delicate pastry notes.
